A World Series ring isn't very self-reflexive, but I'd take a Padres World Series over anything.

Depends on the record, and as someone else said, how much you contributed to winning that ring. If I felt like I didn't make much contribution to winning the ring I'd rather have the record.

I think so too. And we all know the real reason for that :-t

I'll take the Ring.

I'm not 100% sure what the " :-t " stands for. Send me a pm or post why its there. Bonds said he wants to pass Ruth so he can be the greatest Left Handed hitter ever...

Thought provoking question. ;-D

The World Series ring is tougher to do since most big hitters don't pitch, and definitely don't play defense at all positions at all times. It's a true team effort to win it all.

Records like "All Time Home Run Champ" isn't easy either.

Pretty tough call for me since you can get a World Series ring while being nothing more than a bench warmer. If I wasn't a starter, I wouldn't want the World Series ring since I didn't feel like I helped to earn it. Makes it hard for me to pick that one, but at the same time, I don't need to break a record to know "I am that damn good". That's something most athletes just know. Either they are, or they are not, and they certainly know it once they have been in the game for some length of time, and I know I wouldn't need an individual award to tell me that.

Very interesting question though. ;-D Curious to watch where the votes land in this one. :-)

Oh, and I haven't voted yet since I'm not sure what my answer is. ;-)

World Series Ring

I mean does anybody really remember Walter Johnson?
Or in football, Steve Largent?

Yet they both held claim to a few of their sports most coveted records? ..

I'll take the ring, cus they can never take that away.

Spot on.

You can lose the record. Just look at how long Big Mac was the single-season HR champ. Records come and go. Titles last forever.

Give me the ring. Barry already has plenty of records.

If I can be considered an All-Time Great (but with no major records) and win a Ring I'll take that but if it's being a role player or "Good Player" on a World Series team or holding a hallowed record, I'll take the record.

Bonds is one of the most selfish players in baseball. He's only out for himself. He might not act like it's all that big to him, but he wants the record.
