Vain? Narrow-minded? Don't know about all that, but scholar...yah.

I was always under the impression that being pedantic was explaining things more thoroughlly than necessary, or repeating oneself in a different manner to explain something that was already understood. I had never seen the vain or narrow-minded part attatched. You learn something new every day.
