I've never had much of an opinion about Bono. In fact, I recently had a hilarious Bono-related moment with my girlfriend while playing Trivial Pursuit:
Me: The question is "What Irish rocker took his stage name from a brand of hearing aids?"
Her: Uh... Sting?
Me: No.
Her: Uh... ok, I give up.
Me: Bono, duh
Her: How would you know that?
Me: Well I didn't know he took his name from a hearing aid, but really, how many Irish rockers are there?
Her: You mean Barry Bono?
Me: Who?
Her: Barry Bono, from U2.
Me: <holding back laughter> Did you think that U2's lead singer was named Barry Bono?
Her: Yeah, that's not his name?
Me: No! I think you might be combining him with Barry Bonds
Her: Oh, uh, who?
As you can see, she doesn't get out much.
As for Bono though, my biggest problem with him is... well, I can sum it up in four (or should I say fourteen) words:

Actually, the music fundraiser that was shown on all the TV networks did feature some of those songs. I know the Foo Fighters covered "Born on the Bayou" and I think a few other CCR songs were covered by other bands.

I might be wrong but I thought CCR was from California.
Aren't they from Northern California? I think they did a song about Lodeye (sp)

Maddox bashing Bono and U2 was far funnier than this
Not really... Maddox made fun of all the songs on U2's latest albume, and well, no one really heard any of those crappy songs except vertigo which was very crappy.
CCR is from California, yes. And, what's more, Fogerty had never been to Louisiana when he wrote all those songs. But, yeah, they should (and probably will) do a benefit to help out.
Maddox bashing on U2 was funny in that when I saw "The 11 worst songs" I had no idea what to expect and it happend to be U2 latest album. I didn't even read it, I haven't liked them since they did that whole Zoo-tropia or whatever it was called. Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum...good times though.
As for the topic, this is rough. I listen to a solid 80% rap, with some Killers and White Stripes mixed in, and my 2 favorite living rappers are Kanye (despite his stupid remarks, both albums are solid, I even have a team named The College Dropout) and Mos' Black on Both sides gets constant play from me. I would put both albums in my personal top 5 (a great idea for a thread ). A lot of rappers just talk about how rich they are or how much crack they sell. I hate most of it. These guys usually think. I can't believe they've opened themselves to such criticism now...
I did a Kazaa search for "mos def katrina" and got nothing but porn that I'd have to pay for...
