May miss start
LATEST NEWS
RHP John Patterson might not make his scheduled start Tuesday at the New York Mets because of a sinus infection. "I'm weak, I've lost weight, and I haven't played catch," said Patterson, adding that he's dropped about eight pounds. "I don't want to hurt myself or jeopardize the team," he said. He left his last start, Thursday against Florida, after giving up seven runs in 4 2/3 innings, then skipped his normal off-day bullpen session Saturday.

FANTASY ANALYSIS
Patterson should be able to make a start before the end of the week, but it looks like he might have to opt out of the Tuesday start, which ruins his two-start potential for Week 24 (Sept. 12-18). We say run him out there in NL-only leagues, but consider other alternatives in mixed leagues. We have seen what he can do healthy, but last Thursday showed what you might get at less than 100 percent.
