On the topic of PC Games....

Instead of bombing the x-Box or Video Card with games talk, I figured I'd start it here. I'm looking for new games for my PC and was wondering what games you guys recommend. Some of my current favourites are Battlefield and BF Vietnam (my computer wont run BF 2), Unreal Tournament 2004. I love the shooter games with checkpoints like BF and Star Wars Battlefront. You guys have also recommended I check out Starcraft. Anything else come to mind that you would recommend? What games are you guys playing right now?

FAR CRY!!!!!!!

Best FPS I've ever played. It should be pretty cheap now too.

I personally hated HL2, even though I really liked the original. The game just got exceedingly boring as it progressed.

GTA3, VC and SA of course are all excellent. Use the Wingman controller for the driving parts and the mouse to aim and shoot.

Splinter Cell is excellent and best played on PC

Half-Life is a good starter and then you can progress into better graphics.

RTCW is good as well.

NFS: Porsche Unleashed is one of the best values out there. I picked it up for $9 and its a great racing game.

For strategy, I like Civ3 or even Civ2.

So many people go on about Counterstrike but I have never really been able to keep up with it all. Isn't it a Half Life Mod of some sort?

It started out that way, and it became incredibly popular. The newest version, CounterStrike Source, is basically the official multiplayer for Half Life 2. Lots of fun, I've always enjoyed it the chances I've had to play it.

Does it have a single player mode? Or is it more geared towards online play? If so, how do I get into online play? Sorry for all the questions...

Nah, its just the multiplayer aspect for it. As for getting online, its through Steam through Half Life 2. I believe you start up Steam, run Counter Strike Source, then go join a server you like.

Ok I've been playing these game latley

Pirates: "B" You are a pirate and sail around blowing up ships and dancing with wenches and such. Cartoony but pretty fun anyways!

Madden 2006: "B" Controlls suck but still its Madden

Doom 3: "A" Best looking game ever and fun!

Far Cry: "B+" Pretty awesome but sorta buggy graphically. Great looking at times then sucky at other times. Great sound and game play!

Manhunt: "B" Extremely Gruesome: Controls like GTA. You are in a snuff film and have to escape a city full of killers trying to get ya.

Need for speed underground: "B" Not as good as the first one. Pretty cheesy but still a good car racing game.

MS Flight Sim 2004: "A" Aweome if you like flying otherwise I wouldn't check it out

Tony Hawk 4: "B+" Used bearshare to get it. Old school but really fun!

BF2 was boring for me cause I couldn't play online.

Star Wars battlefront is pretty close to BF decent kinda boring.

Morrowind (aka Elder Scrolls 3) is pretty cool. It's an RPG with tons of different paths, quests, options etc. It has a strong following, which makes that fact that you can do your own modifications really cool. I am in no way able to create my own stuff, but the hardcore fans create new quests, buildings, armor, weapons, characters, etc. They are all downloadable and incredibly easy to implement. It won all sorts of gaming awards, the 4th installment is due out soon as well.

Dont play Counter Strike. The people who play it have to be the most annoying people ever. Its really hard to explain but this is it.
