What happens in a h2h playoffs tie?

Postby The Loveable Losers » Sun Sep 11, 2005 4:25 pm

This is my first year playing fbb...doing fairly well but I've got a situation coming up that I'm not sure how to plan for it if happens...

Here's the standings (so far) for the week in case they matter.

Runs: 34-24
HR: 8-10
RBI: 29-27
SB: 1-8
AVE: .312-.260
W: 3-4
SV: 6-2
K: 55-33
ERA: 4.38-3.94
WHIP: 1.58-1.38

So as long as I hold out in the RBI's or I come back and tie/win the hr's, wins, era or whip then we'll end up knotted up at 5-5. What happens on Yahoo! in this case? How is the tie broken?

Lowest ERA is the first tiebreaker, with highest AVG being the second.

Isn't that just for Yahoo, are you sure they do that at other sites too?

Things are interesting now...he started Russ Ortiz earlier and fell behind me in ERA. At the moment I'm ahead 4.56 - 4.59 in era. All of my pitchers have pitched...all of his have pitched except for Cliff Lee who's on the mound right now. If he finishes the 6th inning without giving up a run I fall behind. If they get a run though he'd have to go 7.2 for me to fall behind and if they get 2 runs it's over - I win. I'm up 6-4 now but if I lose the era I drop to a 5-5 tie and lose the tiebreaker. Talk about a nailbiter.

Well...that's it...they pulled Lee after 6 so I lose 4.56-4.52 in era and therefore lose the tiebreaker...at least I won in one of the two leagues I had going this week and have 8 leagues with a bye to have fun in. :)

Nope...I needed him to give up 3er if he went 6ip like he did. I either needed 5.1ip or less or 3er or more and just missed getting it.

The worst part of it all is that I kept all of my RP's in on the off-chance that I could tie up the wins category or so they could lower my era and try to catch up there. Miguel Batista blew up on me and gave up 2er today or else I would have won regardless of what Lee did. I really can't stand Batista...he reminds me of Mesa or Graves in his ability to implode. I just dropped him on a couple of other teams to reactivate Bonds - I don't need the saves THAT badly.
