Anyone up for a mass Met suicide?

Seriously, I'm becoming demoralized as a Mets fan. This has been one of the toughest weeks I remember in a long time. This game tonight against the Cards and the 10-inning Atlanta game were devastating.

Jeez, this stinks. It's a tough week to root for the "Other" New York team. :,-(

Sigh. I guess comparing this team to my expectations going into the season, I am happy. I am also already excited about next year. These are the things I am trying to think about. B-)

This has indeed been a brutal week. :-t

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

man, i love this team to death but this has been one frustrating season...if they finish above .500 i guess i am happy overall but it's the way they got there that drives me nuts - the insane inconsistency, right from the 0-5 start through now. at times they look like a solid playoff team and then the next day they look like crap. granted there is a lot of young talent on this team but the pitching staff is a veteran staff and guys like floyd, piazza (when he's played), and beltran (bust?) were just way too inconsistent

I really like Floyd, but I think we should give him up because of his inconsistence and his almost fluke season to go without major injury.

Here is a lineup idea for 2006:

Soriano, SS
Beltran, CF
Wright, 3B
Manny, LF
Soriano, 2B
Cameron, CF
Huff, 1B
Castro, C

How about some pitcher additions/replacements from you guys? And is this lineup ridiculously far fetched? (With Soriano probably)

Soriano doesn't seem likely to me because of Keppinger and Hernandez.

Well let's see. You have Soriano playing SS and 2B. Plus you have 2 players in CF and no RF. :-D

Seriously I can't see the Mets getting Soriano or Manny.
