Rotoworld:
A source told the Dayton Daily News, that Ken Griffey Jr. actually pulled part of a tendon off the bone while hurting his foot on Sunday.
''Potentially a serious situation, potentially a season-ending injury,'' the source said. Griffey's foot will be treated with anti-inflammatories for the next couple of days. He might return this weekend as a pinch-hitter or even a center fielder, but if there's continued soreness, he could be shut down.

Yes indeed. He had an off year this year waiting until September to rip or tear a muscle.

This is a crushing blow to the team leading in my roto league. I dropped Griffey early in the year when I thought he was shot, only to see him single-handedly carry the team that picked him up past me in the standings. I'm trailing 77-75.5 and if I pass him it looks like I'll have the last laugh about Griffey...

Definitely. I was really enjoying his resurgence. He was one of my favorite players when I was 12. :,-(

Derrek Lee batted .284 in August. Some things are back to normal :-)

Me too... I remember getting all gooey over his 1989 Upper Deck rookie card as a kid. Junior's good for baseball, it was a real joy to see him play well this season- especially after his crappy start.

I used to buy (or trade cards with the shop) for a Beckett each month and loved watching my Upper Deck Griffey rookies go up and up. They listed for $20 when I bought them, and $100 when I sold them. :-)

Did keep a couple of them though, and still own them. ;-)

Not exactly surprised, knew this was going to happen eventually I guess......Still, great year from Griffey considering his past couple.

He obviously needs to get together with Juan Gone and get pointers on how to regain his DL form. Juan Gone achieved a near perfect score this season for his 1 AB and out for the year performance netting him 600K.
