With an unsuccessful push to aquire Manny Ramirez before the trade deadline, and his obvious unhappiness in the Boston clubhouse (didn't Kevin Millar basically say Manny was "un-fun?" for not coming up with any cool team slogans [by cool, i guess he means "cowboy up" or growing his hair to the point of hobo-dom]) do you think the Mets will try to pick him up in the off-season? It looks like they're going to free up quite a bit of salary with the inevitable departure of Piazza to the AL, and all of that disposable income for the Mets could make up a pretty good offer to Manny.
Or they could always just try to coax Mo Vaughn out of retirement, either way.
