Brian Roberts Fancy New Contact Lenses

They were talking on Cold Pizza about these new contacts/sunglasses that Brian Roberts wears during games. Sounded pretty interesting... they make your eyes red like an albino rat.

"'That's because the shoe and apparel giant's (Nike) new contact lenses, called MaxSight, hit optometrist offices nationwide on Monday. The lenses are meant to replace sunglasses. They are designed to filter out ultraviolet light and are said to make the ball and its surroundings appear crisper through the company's patented technology."

Another article said they would cost 20 and be for sale pretty soon. Having red eyes is could be pretty cool, but I miss those flip-up glasses the players used to use.

Ya this is pretty old, I remember hearing about this. I think Ensberg has been using them too. Roberts must've taken them off now since he has been such a bum lately.

Talk about a severe marketing blunder, someone should definitely get fired over this. Instead of releasing the product when you have a breakout MVP candidate to use as a spokesman, you now have a spokesman who starting to make Oriole fans yearn for the days of Billy Ripken manning second base.
