Well, it's not much different than all the talk about hot prospects turning all their doubles into HRs once they reach the majors, except I'd rather bet on Bonds getting his stroke back than hot prospects turning doubles into HRs (like some do). :-b

Anyway, if you push the Bonds fans too hard, you'll only be taking the risk of looking foolish if you turn out wrong. ;-)

I could care less if I'm wrong. I don't have Bonds and I did not waste a draft pick or a roster spot for him.

I just feel bad for those who actually dropped serviceable players from their rosters expecting Bonds to hit a bomb in every AB. Because by now we all know it ain't gonna happen in 05.

I wasn't refering to any specific prospect, but just about how so many people around these parts seem repeat that mantra like it always turns out to be true. :D

Anyway, looks like Bonds finally hit his 1st dinger, so I guess we can all take it easy now -- or maybe not. :D Too bad for me that it's probably too little, too late. !+)

Now tomorrow morning we are going to be seeing columnists writing "Bonds 4 MVP, only 11 AB's to hit first home run, he's back ladies and gentleman."

I don't understand how anyone could honestly think Bonds would perform poorly and not be worth a roster spot in standard 12-team leagues.

I agree with you, but that's pretty easy to say now that he's hit his first home run. :-b

He's on a 50 HR pace!
Bold Predictions:

Grady Sizemore will have more value than Jason Bay regardless of draft position

Aramis Ramirez in 155 G will hit over .300 40 HR 110 RBIs

Brian McCann will have more value than Jorge Posada regardless of draft position
