You are to be commended for this elegant solution. Myself, I like the diversion football provides and I generally scale back my fantasy baseball in the winter to 'recharge.' But this idea has merit ...

It's funny, every other option suggested was related to fantasy sports in some way. With your new-found spare time, I'd suggest learning a new language, getting a job if you don't have one, actually working at work if you do have one, or something "Xtreme" like rock-climbing.

Are you actually suggesting that he expand his horizons, enjoy other cultures, and become reacquainted with nature and the joy of physical exercise?

Because if you are, I think you need a yellow card.
