Maybe both countries have an FCC type delay to keep the swears and streakers off the tv....?

They do have to play 2 National Anthems.
That is 2 minutes right there.

It might have something to do with commercials, as Ted Rogers owns the team, and the channel which the Jays are usually played on.
The National Anthem explanation for these 7:07 games is also a good one.

Any answer based on Rogers and commercial exploitation is probably correct..

You've got a diamond, You've got nine men
You've got a hat and a bat, And that's not all..

I was at a Jays game in August. The Jay Force is the most horrifying thing I've ever seen at any ballgame. Toronto is a very cosmopolitan city, but I think an official breakdancing troupe is a bit much.

Amen!!!!!
Next on the list would be our character-less mascot Ace
(not the guy in my av, btw), and that meathead who tries to loudly hype up all the in-game promotions. I've been to several other MLB ballparks, and I never see these sorts of things done anywhere else..
