A guy in my league drafted Brian Roberts late in the draft and had a steal . . . for a few months. It's amazing how Roberts has regressed to his previous self, after spending the first half hitting like Albert Pujols:

Roberts, career stats before this season: .264/.328/.360, .688 OPS
Roberts, stats through July 4: .358/.434/.618, 1.052 OPS
Roberts, stats since July 4: .240/.319/.361, .680 OPS

Roberts' current season-long stats still look damn good: .309/.387/.511 but he's provided 2 months of trash and is still owned in 100% of leagues, according to ESPN.com.

Well either he was ridiculously hot for 3 months or he was juiced and got off. This guy had 4 or 5 Hrs all last seasona and he went off on a binge this year that was in the Manny or AJ level of ability. That is not normal. Fluke power streak...maybe?

roberts was definitely a life saver the first 3 months of the season, but he has been a killer since as well.... but buyer beware next year in drafts though,,, as he will be overranked from his career stats due to that hot 3 month stretch earlier this year.....

It wasn't that hard to predict that he'd fall back to earth, he's always been a streaky player anyways. So seeing it happen is no surprise to me. Next year, he'll most likely go too high in the draft, but could be an intriguing option if he falls to later.
