I don't know that he was a sleeper, exactly, but Octavio Dotel hurt me something awful. Juan Cruz wasn't the pitcher I was hoping for, either.
But, like the poster above, this was a year in which I was mostly dead on in my predictions. People laughed at my pitching staff, saying that I couldn't possibly place - Pedro would get hurt, Dontrelle isn't very good to begin with, Reitsma was a stupid pick, etc. And my offense. Man, people made fun of my Barmes/Lugo combo in a 14 teamer.
Wilkerson
Vaz, though it's hard to argue with his (yet again) pre-All-Star numbers
Why did people think Greinke was going to be so awesome? No support, and no one to mentor the sophomore Ace. His season had "tragic waste" written all over it, even in March.
Mota was a huge disappointment in that I kept him over Carpenter because I only had 1 other closer. Kyle Lohse, what an arm, but what a moron, Kahil, maybe if he could ever stay healthy, I also predicted that Werth would have a decent year, Crede would break out of his funk and produce, and that A. Nunez with a starting spot would be able to produce in KC, not so, not so.

sorry to hijack, but, is that true??
Yep...right now Tony is 3141 for 9288 in his career (.338). If Gwynn goes 0 for 1182, that makes him 3141 for 10470. That's exactly .300. Quite amazing, ain't it.
Just to poke a little fun at Tony, whom I respect immensely as a great hitter..
He could also come back and hit a HR in 353 consecutive ABs and have the same SLG% as Mark McGwire.
