Assuming the Mets don't get Manny or do get Manny and lose Cliff the Mets will be filling RF with Victor Diaz and/or Xavier Nady. If it was your choice who would you choose? A platoon could be possible but looking at their splits they don't seem to match up well in that regard.
I think this is a possible scenario, and I would generally expect a Diaz/Nady platoon in RF, at least until a clear starter emerges.
Diaz got sent down to Norfolk. Feliciano called up.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
They had too... the Mets were one short on pitching and Diaz was taking up a spot on the bench with Nady hitting as great as he has been. Diaz is too young to sit on a bench, he'll play in AAA until he's needed.
Yeah I'm definitely in favor of the decision. Plus if they decide to trade him he'll build better trade value playing in Norfolk than sitting on the bench.

Diaz traded to the Rangers for minor league catcher Mike Nickeas.
