Victor Diaz (Traded to Texas)

With the way things are going at 2B with Kaz Matsui and Miguel Cairo what are the chances Victor gets moved back to 2B. Or with Anderson Hernandez playing there for the Tides now expect hm to come up to the big leagues to hold that position down.

I think the chance of Diaz moving back to 2B is pretty slim. They moved him to the OF originally because he has very poor range. I've never actually seen him play 2B but this is what I've read at the various sites which cover Mets prospects.

Also next season the Mets will most likely have both Hernandez and Keppinger in camp trying to win the 2B job. Keppinger is still hurt but I'm not really sure why Hernandez hasn't been giving a shot. I did read on one site that it had something to do with the AAA playoffs.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Yes, some think the Tides can win the Governor's Cup this year. Though they did just go through a 7 game lose streak

Looks like A. Hernandez will join the Mets after the AAA playoffs.

Willie wrote:Manager Willie Randolph said that reliever Danny Graves would rejoin the team Monday in Atlanta and that infielder Anderson Hernandez and another outfielder would be promoted from Class AAA Norfolk after Norfolk's postseason.

Slightly old thread but rather than start a new one...

Assuming the Mets don't get Manny or do get Manny and lose Cliff the Mets will be filling RF with Victor Diaz and/or Xavier Nady. If it was your choice who would you choose? A platoon could be possible but looking at their splits they don't seem to match up well in that regard.

i dont know if victor is gonna much play at all. I would love to give him a full season and see what he can do, but with the purchase of tiki redmond it said on mets.com that nady and redmond, not diaz would be platooning in right.

I'll have to look for that article. I hadn't heard that before.
