I've been using the guy for spot starting recently, so you have to look at his matchups. But I think and even the Blue Jays think he's pitching over his head because he is not slated to start in the rotation next season.

As I said, management is thinking of changing their plans to fit him in there somewhere. Don't ask me where, I'm not the GM.

Also, I'm pretty sure Towers is a FA next season, though he has been very productive, and it wouldn't be bad to keep him around either.

I'm not sure if Lilly is signed next year, I think it's either the Jays' option year or his.

And yes, I've heard the Jays will try to sign Burnett.

As for Downs, I'm sold on the fact that he has finally reached the potential which led the Cubs to draft him in the 3rd round 8 years ago. Although, with Halladay, (a #2 starter), Chacin, Bush and Towers in his way, not to mention McGowan, Jackson, and Purcey among other prospects, I think it will be tough to find in room in the rotation for him. I do believe that Downs would be good in the long role which Pete Walker is currently.
