Ok I am in a 24 team league that has a 40 man minor league roster. Can anyone suggest players that they have seen at the lower levels (AA,A,RL,etc.) that have had an excellent year? I have noticed that I can usually find guys in the Rangers farm system who I like because I pay so much attention to the team, but it is hard to find other guys in other teams systems at the lower levels.
I am just looking for suggestions, and these should be guys that are not well known (all the good prospects are taken, and many of the 1st and 2nd round picks from this years draft are gone as well).
Even if you just have a favorite players on some A ball team let me know, I need all the hints I can get.
I am in a league where minor leaguers are deep, and are expanding. So I have been keeping a list, and will share it with you, some aren't the best but that's what happens when your league is deep lol.
He is defiantly one to watch. The kid has blazing speed, can hit for avg., and has a good eye at the plate. If things go well for him, he could make a nice splash onto the prospect scene next year.
I realize this is pretty homerish but as you said you know more aobut the team you follow Anyways, the Giants have some good looking ballplayers in A. I would look at any of the following guys (some may have been mentioned already, and no AAA guys since I assume anyone good is already owned):
A Travis Ishikawa
Eddy Martinez-Esteve (supposedly ready to hit at the major league level, just needs to find a position to play)
Clay Timpner
Nate Schierholtz
Marcus Sanders
Craig Whitaker
AA Fred Lewis
Alfredo Simon
Pat Misch
Dan Ortmeier
This guy is putting up ridiculous numbers in probably the worst hitter's park in the minors... he's a stud, check him out.
Also, from the GCL, who will probably start out in low A next year, Elvis Andrus, SS. This kid has SO much hype... scouts saying he's the best prospect since Andruw Jones. MAKE SURE to pick him up, only 16 years old and is really developing nicely. You'll be rewarded down the line if you pick him up.
There's some other studly braves that I'll look up and post later.
One guy to consider is Brandon Moss in the Bosox system. He's flying below the radar of the elite 6 in the Sox system, but is a solid mid-tier prospect. Not superstar,m but has the skills to be a nice undervalued pick-up.
One other guy is Kurt Suzuki in Oakland's system. He is an OBP machine, and with Barton not slated to be a C, that opens the way for him, once Kendall's contract is up in 2007 (?)
