What Happened to Joey Gathright: SB Machine?

Gathright was supposed to be a faster version of Juan Pierre. But lately he seems to be a slower version of Juan Padillia. He had short of a burst of 4 steals about a month ago, but it appears he isn't running anymore, a la Carl Crawford. Have they shut his running game down?

I kept this 4 category-killer in my lineup in a pathetic quest for steals. Anyone holding onto this guy?

I've added him for 2-3 day stints twice in the last 2 weeks in the hope that he'd run (since I dumped all my sb guys after tying up the category but now have one guy that's getting close enough that I'd like to throw up 2-3 more sb's).

I don't think I'll be doing that again any time soon.

The reason he isn't running is you have to get on base to steal one.

He's hitting .286 over the last 10 games (albeit with 0 walks).

He's been on base 8 times. He's attempted to steal a base 0 times.

Maybe if Lou did not jerk him around and left him alone in the leadoff spot everyday, his steals would come back.

No other explanation than that and the fact that he injured his shoulder crashing into the wall and missed some games and may not be 100% confident sliding head first into 2nd.
