MacDougal You're Killin Me

Postby Longshot » Mon Jun 16, 2003 11:13 pm

MacDougal asked himself "whats the one way I can ruin my owners mood after having Willis go 9 shoutout innings?" Well, he thought long and hard, and he decided to blow a save and give up 3 runs before his first out. Kill me, and pray with me that this ends soon.

Phew, inning ending double play :-o

Maybe he can steal a win now if KC gives him some run support, like last night.. still, he really killed my mood :-[

Another routine win for MacDougal. The scorer is probably looking frantically through the rulebook right now, wondering if he is REQUIRED to give MacDougal a win.

..and Mac wins the game. Unbelievable. I hate the guy but love him at the same time, a W is so huge compared to a save. Too bad I have to take a WHIP of 4 and an ERA of 27 to get it.. oh well, combined with Willis its like an ERA of 2.8 and a WHIP of .9 :-D

It's all part of MacDougal's master plan to become a starter.
Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.

In that top of the 9th, there were 0 swinging strikes and 1 called strike (on a 3-0 pitch), according to Sportsline.com - every other pitch was a called ball, fouled off or put into play off of MacDougal.

But the craziest thing is that, having thrown 25 pitches in the inning without getting an out (and having 5 straight batters reach base), MacDougal got 3 outs on his next 2 pitches.

All accounts ive heard say Mac has great stuff, great speed, great movement, just missing one little thing - control. The kid just throws, and wherever they go, they go. He relies on his pitches being good enough that placement wont matter, but sometimes, aka tonight, you can really see when bad placement can kill you.

No way would I feel good with this kid in my lineup. April is over, and it's not reality for the poor kid. Time to serve up some gopher balls.
