Not bad. If you're using PS, try outer glow. (Right click on the layers window and select "blending options") I think it would look better also if Prior was bigger. Like on the picture on the right zoom in so the Cubs emblem is right above the bottom of the picture. Since there are only two pictures, you can shrink the width of the sig too. I think those suggestions would improve the sig.

Here are a few tips. The outer glow that Chipo mentioned. On Text, right click the layer so that you get blending options. Put a stroke on it, makes it much easier to see. When desizing pictures hold shift so that its an equal "desize". i wouldnt try using that effect for the background, but definately a good first sig.
