Rototimes shows him as the starter for the Giants on Monday.
Did I miss the thread?

Giants purchased the contract RHP Matt Cain from Triple-A Fresno. Cain will replace Brett Tomko in the rotation and start Monday against the Rockies.

Here are his AAA number
His BB/9 is a little worrysome but I haven't seen his most recent starts. I know he struggled a touch this season. But that K/9 and H/9 should not be ignored.
If your in for a real gamble this week ..
He will be a two start pitcher at home against Colorado and then he ventures to Arizona.

Well you somewhat missed it. It was posted in here that he was called up, but in the form of "should I pick him up" type of thing. So in other words the hamster had a light lunch and moved on.

In any case, his last few starts have been much better in AAA and hasn't been walking many. He will most likely be inconsistent, but against that weak NL West he might be able to put up some solid numbers.

Yeah, I think we had a thread on it but it got eaten. Granted, he has some control issues but he has electric stuff and will be a top of the rotation starter in the future. Like hybrid said, he gets to face the NL West for the rest of the year so I believe that he should put up pretty good numbers. He was considered to be the 2nd best pitching prospect in the PCL behind King Felix. If you are willing to take the risk and you can handle the walks then I don't think that he is a bad pickup.

as usual he's not in Yahoo's database.

What # waiver position do you spend on him in a keeper league, with Sept. callups unannounced (Hermida, Liriano etc.) forthcoming?
