i saw an article online a couple days ago talking about hideki matsui having a really high pitched voice, and that cracked me up(im not even sure if it's true). but it got me thinking about how many players ive never heard speak. i actually looked over my own fantasy team and was pretty suprised at all the guys ive never heard before. so im gonna post a couple guys names, and if youve heard them speak, just post somthing about how they sound or how they are as people.

for example, paul konerko. im sure not a lot of guys have ever heard him speak, but basically evey interview he does ends with him talking about drinking beer.

as for some that ive never heard;
manny, jake peavy(is he a hick?), matsui, vidro, david wright and vernon wells. anyone ever heard them speak?

Peavy isn't a hick...he's probably one of the most competitive players I've ever heard speak. Every conversation he makes he mentions the phrase "just trying to help my team win" or something around that. He does have a slight southern accent, but it isn't hickish.

Tim Hudson is one that comes to my mind right away, I have seriously never heard him speak in all of the years of knowing who he is.

I've heard Manny speak before. He had that quote from the World Series where he used the word "destination" instead of "destiny".

Here, I found the quote:

Ive heard hudson and Manny speak. None really come to mind unless you take Bonds but dont count the "No comment" "Im tired, my families tired" bit.

Well he is from Alabama... ...

He does do a Chevy Avalanche radio commercial down here and a Hummer commercial...not hickish if you ask me.

Matsui doesn't have a high pitch voice at all. Strange.
We don't hear him speak much since he only talks about porn.

Has anyone heard Soriano try to speak English....BAD....REAL BAD.

Matsui does not hve a high pitched voice. He often speaks through a translator in Yankee post-game shows.

Of course sometimes guys speak OK but are not told to not show up on a post-game show in a bright yellow shirt when you have to sit next to 2 guys in dark suits (Papelbon is babbling now on NESN).
