I understand they think he'll have to go to the OF, despite Ozzie's help.
where did u hear the moving to the OF news at??? i have heard none of that from anybody at Durham or Tampa,,, i have heard some the experts say that he should move to the OF, but nothing about it from his team....
as far as the errors, BJ has made almost half of those errors on throws.... his fielding range is pretty good as he has quick feet and hands, his arm is a rocket, and he has the attittude to want to get better defensively....i think he will become a good, reliable SS in the bigs (he will never be a gold glove caliber SS),,,, and lastly, dang i mentioned all that without saying that Derek also made 56 errors in one season in the minors many years ago.....
Update: Upton left Wednesday's game at Triple-A Durham with a slight left shoulder strain, the Virginian-Pilot reports.
Recommendation: Meanwhile, some sources have indicated that the Rays won't call Upton up this September and might have him spend most of 2006 in the minors as well, in order to keep his service time down.

2006 as well?
That will be 2 years in a row hes done nothing for me but rot on my bench
I almost hope he doesn't come up. I have him in his second year. And if he stays in the minors the whole season he will still be a yr2 player at $5.00.Othere wise I will have to add $5.00 per year to keep him after 2006. I can keep him for two years at $5.00 under his current contract statis.. I can use some steals but not at the expense of losing a year off his contract. He won't help that much.
BJ made two more erroers the other day. Up to 53 . Looks like winter ball and not the majors this year.I hope he can get straightened out. Tampa could trade Lugo and get some pitching help and I would have a cheap shortstop that steals bases.
I would not keep Upton over anyone like Johnson or Francouer at this point unless Upton is projected to be a full time player in 2006. Taking nothing away, I think Upton has as much offensive upside as anyone in the game, but if your keeper spots are limited, you want to keep guys that can help you win this year, not in 3 years.
