Start Buerhle tomorrow vs Boston?

Postby Guest » Mon Jun 16, 2003 1:10 am

Is he ever going to turn things around? 19 wins last year and 16 the year before. How is he 2-10(i think)?

I have him and I'm not going to start him. One reason is that I'm over on my innings and need to cut down. However, even if I did have the innings, I wouldn't start him. Boston scores too many runs, and even though Buerhle has had some solid outings, he isn't getting the support.

are you serious? absolutely not. Boston is the last team you want your struggling pitcher to face.

No way. Leave him on the bench.
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Boston is hitting .298 overall and hitting .317 at fenway. In other words,no you shouldn't start him.

He's also facing Pedro for 4-5 innings, with Ryan Rupe coming on in releif of Pedro. I'd hold out for this one. It does present a good opportunity for Mark Buehrle to prove himself, but let him prove himself BEFORE you give him the start.

Definitely keep him on your bench. I am a Sox fan and can say that they have been playing very well recently. Even when they aren't scoring runs, they are leaving the bases loaded. It is only a matter of time before they really go off, and score all the guys in those bases loaded opportunities. With Beurhle's bad luck this year, I don't see it getting any better against the Red Sox.

Why in the world do I ever listen to advice on this forum? ;)

1 ER and 4 H through 7 innings, and he looks like he'll get a win...
