Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Kim will become the closer unless the Sox trade for a closer in which case he will stay in the rotation. He will not be a middle reliever. The only reason he is not closing now is because Fossum is hurt, and they are using either Burkett or Rupe in long relief for Martinez while he tries to get past this back thing, which seems fine.
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for them to trade for a closer when Kim is a proven top notch closer so they can leave him in the rotation, when he isn't really proven as a starter. They could probably get a servicable starting pitcher to bump Fossum or Burkett out of the rotation for alot cheaper than they could get a closer.
I have heard alot about Boston looking aquire either Uggy or Armando. I didn't say that is makes sense, neccessarily, that's for Theo and Grady to decide. For now, at least, Kim will be in the rotation. And thats where he prefers to be for now.
