Looking for a pitcher who might help in stretch run? It looks like Padilla has finally "recovered." And he plays for a winner.

Last 4 games:

ERA: 1.46
WHIP: 1.21
IP: 27 K: 19

His injuries were to be expected since the Phiilies rode him hard over the last three years, but he pitches half of his games in that horrible ballpark

I still don't trust him.

He's starting tomorrow against SF....should I spot start him? I think I'm going to considering how bad my SPs are...

Yeah, Padilla is on fire and SF is a weak hitting team. Go for it.

I drafted him late rounds this spring as he had a fine season of winter ball. I will pick him up to spot start tommorow on a few teams.

I would pick him to spot start, but that would mean dropping Morneau or Blanton.

Padilla really reminds me of Pineiro. Both guys who coming into the 2004 season looked to be very solid fantasy starters, but then got plagued by injuries and fell of the map. Padilla is only just starting to climb back on, but Pineiro is still way behind.

I'd also be cautious with Padilla.

I think a lot has to do with your standings this time of the year. If you are midpack, you need to take the occasional flyer on a hot- handed pitcher with a two start week. What do you have to lose?

i ask myself everyday why do i stick with this guy. :-t

i'm not a big fan of padilla's. you know some guys who you look and say, do i really want a guy who will be just average on my fantasy team? cuz that's what you gonna get from him. if you league counts IP he might actually not be a bad option, i can't believe i said that, but since the phillies moved to the new ballpark his numbers went way up.
