Schilling to start Thursday!

I think this is freakin disgraceful and i am shocked that he is taking this quietly! After his heroics and guttiness in the postseason to now turn around and ask him to make a minor league rehab start before joining the rotation is just unacceptable. They need to show just a litttttttle tiny weeee bit of consistency......

Seriously though, I think it absoLUTELY the right move to make. If the sox are going to go places this year it is ONLY with him in the rotation. That said, i am not one of the more myopic Bosox fans out there. I DONT think he is a bonafide #1 stud starter that they seem to be counting on him to be. Can he be effective,,,,,absolutely! Does he add to the rotation,,,,,,you bet......but i dont know if he will ever be that 'stopper' they need in the rotation.

Well Foulke isn't coming back this week and DiNardo let up 2 runs that lost us the game today so they should call Hansen up.

But then again Joey Devine got called up today and pitched great :-t

I have a waiver in for Foulke in my keeper, will he get the saves when he returns?

I was walking in Time Square today and this huge ABC NEWS sign said Schilling to start Thursday against Royals...I was a happy man.

he will undoubtedly get teh shot at saves when he gets back.....I would even say he has a longggg leash. A) Francona is big time a players coach and sticks with his players (even to a fault sometimes) .......B)The only options are schilling and maybe timlin and neither has been great in the role not to mention they are badly needed in their other roles....

just my opinion

I posted this once before, but I think it's worth posting again.

If you check out Schillings stats from 2004, his numbers get better after the 2nd or 3rd innings. He takes a couple to settle, so he'll prob be more effective starting then closing. Check it out:

Pitch 1-15
Era 7.07, Whip 1.21

Pitch 16-30
Era 3.78 Whip 0.87

Pitch 31-45
Era 1.59 Whip 0.68

Pitch 46-60
Era 0.68 Whip 0.99

He just pitched 2 perfect innings...... :-? .

I think he was talking about all the innings prior to those two.
