most underrated player ever?

this should spark some action. please choose a pitcher and a position player. my opinion is as follows:
Pitcher: Trevor Hoffman. yes you all have without a doubt heard of him. he is very close to being second on the all time saves list, if he hasn't passed it already. but honestly, how many of you outside of colorado have seen this guy pitch? many haven't, because the padres (no offense padres fans) aren't exactly as... popular as the red sox or braves or yankees so they are rarely nationally televised. but he pitches for the padres (a west coast team) and all those games usually start around 10:00 so when he comes in around 12:30 or 1, almost everyone east of nevada is asleep. i've had the honor of watching him pitch and he is without a doubt the best closer i've ever seen. he completely outsmarts and overpowers hitters. point made.
position player: can't really think of anyone who REALLY sticks out... any idaas?
TREVOR HOFFMAN IS THE MOST UNDERRATED PITCHER EVER. come on he pitches for the padres. hardly anyone outside of california ever gets to see him pitch, even on tv.

Frank Robinson. Was overshadowed by Mays, Aaron, Mantle.

Craig Biggio.

robinson yes i will agree with that. biggio... biggio has been pretty darn consistent and has quietly been doing good for all these years. garret anderson was really underrated until everyone woke up and saw how good he really was. only other guy i can think of that is really underrated is joe randa. he goes out there everyday, and he gets the job done. i'd be more than happy to have a guy like that on my team (the orioles).

sadly i have only seen him pitch once despite watching twenty padres games between last year and this year specifically to see trevor pitch lol. but he was freaking awesome in the game i saw him in. he is so much better than rivera, it's not even funny. hoffman completely outsmarts you rather than overpowering you, but if he wants to, he can overpower you as well. hall of fame quality without a doubt. he has more saves than rivera, and the highest save conversion rate ever (for all those who had more than 200 saves). if they let eckersley in, they sure as heck better let hoffman in.

Just as a warning, I wouldn't use save percentage to justify your argument...I've been using it for ages with no avail (apparently winning % is the better measure for closers...go figure.)

Dick Allen. By far the most deserving player not in the Hall of Fame and never even got more than 19% of the vote in the 10 years he was on the ballot.
