Zumaya vs. James

This weekend there will be a showdown in Richmond between two of the hottest prospects in the minors. Joel Zumaya and Chuck James will toe the rubber carrying 357 K's in 281 IP this season. It's the minor league version Clemens vs. Pedro!

A lot has been written about Zumaya giving up the base on balls, however, I think that's come down quite a bit as the season has progressed. He's got a sick hammer curve and hits 97 like it was the regular speed limit. I take him over Verlander every day of the week and twice on Sunday. James is going to be a keeper also.

Wish this game was televised!!!

Since the two teams I follow far more closely than any others are the Tigers and Braves, I would love to see this game. Zumaya's been very, very good in AAA since a very bad first outing. Chuck James is seems like one of the more underrated pitching prospects out there. The Braves are just loaded with young talent.

Both pitchers did pretty well, but neither got the decision after both teams' bullpens were very shaky.
