Hampton, worth Keeping?

Postby kswiss » Sun Jun 15, 2003 4:48 pm

I thought at the beginning of the year that Mike Hampton would have a good year pitching for the Braves who will get him some runs and play D. But it really didn't happen and I guess I gave up on him. I recently drafted him in the last round of a Mid Season League, Cause I didn't know who else to get... But after his last start, is he really turning it around now? Is he worth keeping or should I pick up Ryan Franklin instead?

Get Ryan Franklin. I had Hampton but dumped him because he was too inconsistent. But Franklin has been very good.

Even if he turns it around, hes not a great pitcher stats wise. He never strikes out too many batters and his WHIP is usually around 1.3. He should pick up a fair amount of wins and keep a decent era though, in fact some wins he probably shouldnt deserve simply because the braves bats are rocket powered this year
