Battled from 10th to 1st!! Can I hang on to win?

Postby TheMeXiKaN » Tue Aug 16, 2005 3:11 pm

I had some bigtime slumpers (VMart, Matsui, Furcal, Chavez), I made some good trades, and I worked the waivers well - - I've managed to battle my way into 1st place!
What can I do to cement the championship?

Wow that's a lot of categories to wrap my head around. Not really sure about the E and PO, I guess that's a bit of a crapshoot. You're squad looks incredibly solid and without knowing what the other teams look like I'd say you are definitely going to be a tough opponent in the playoffs.

Nothing really sticks out that needs fixing but I would probably be looking out for a more talented backup CF than Winn. Not that's it a necessity but it would just give me a little peace of mind because you never know with Griffey.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

In fact, while E is definitely a crapshoot and is a bit of a worthless, abritrary category, PO (put-outs) rewards teams that start more than one 1B or C (Ks count as a put out), so starting a 1b at Util gives me a good chance to win it. That said, theyre both kinda stupid offensive categories.

Interesting about the POs. I never really encountered them as a category before.
