Freel ..... again

Postby BowToYourSensei! » Tue Aug 16, 2005 9:43 am

seems like he is day to day with leg problems again. If the only reason i am keeping him on roster is for SBs, he is probably not going to be running that much even if/when he is playing.

At this point in the season, do you think it is best just to release him and pick up someone that might help in other areas for the last couple of weeks and playoffs?

I've the same problem. Plan to wait out the week to see what developes since any roster changes won't take effect until next Monday.

What does everyone think? Time to drop him...?

Rotoworld-

Ryan Freel will undergo surgery Thursday after an MRI revealed torn cartilage in his right knee.
This won't necessarily sideline him for the rest of the season, but he figures to miss at least three or four weeks. Rich Aurilia should have quite a bit of value in NL-only leagues while Freel is out.

i stashed him on DL for now....if he's done for the season, so be it.

If he comes back late in the play offs and gets hot...i could always activate him later and ride him to the championship. He should be out for a while plus rehab,etc..

If you've got a DL spot to play with, there's no harm in stashing him on it ... just maybe he'd be of some use the last couple weeks of playoffs.
With no DL, I'd give serious consideration to checking the wire for a viable roster addition.
