Hopefully the Jays sign a semi-young arm in the offseason with Towers leaving (I think).
I said it before and I'll say it again..We need a big bat badly.
Konerko would be a great addition as he is a free-agent at the end of the season. He would certainly contribute more then that hack lefty we have in Hinske.

Currently, next year's team will cost about 56 million, and that means that Ricciardi has about 24 million to spend on a big bat, and a #2 pitcher. That's a whole lot of money for really only 2 pieces. We'll see how he spends it...

Konerko is going to be way too expensive. Slim pickings next year for sluggers.
Yeah I know there isn't that much of a selection but Konerko is the best one that's available. Knowing JP he'll probably get someone like Hillenbrand, which isn't bad.

go_jays_go wrote:FWIW, Quiroz is looking real good.
Guillermo Quiroz had his second two-homer game of the month for Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.
Quiroz, who underwent surgery in May for a collapsed lung, has six home runs in 18 games since rejoining the SkyChiefs.
6HRs in 62ABs isn't too shabby.

What are the Jays going to do with League?
Is he going to be a starter or a closer? They really haven't decided that yet.
i thought he was supposed to be the closer, wasn't he? he can throw some serious heat...too bad this year has been a struggle for him, but it's all part of the learning process.
do we even have a spot for league to start? halladay, chacin, bush, mccgowan, rosario...not to mention the guys who will prolly be up in two years time...
