Granted he's already having a fantastic year, but he's been hot lately and hitting bombs. He hit one of the farthest hit balls I've ever seen in Yankee Stadium over the weekend (Definitely the farthest by a righty) over the Old Bullpen and into the ambulance area (Est 485 but people say farther, they're measuring this week) and he just hit one off Fossum that bounced off the catwalks on the roof of the Trop.
In other news, Jaret Wright looks pretty good after struggling a little with his command in the 2nd inning. Throwing 93 consistently, a couple line drives but nothing crazy. Good breaking ball.
I'd say he's AL MVP, though Sheffield would probably disagree . He's just been so good this year and produces so much for the Yanks. He's been real clutch lately, and he's one of the reasons the Jays can't quite catch up to the Yankees in the division.
Also, I took a chance on Wright this evening and so far it's paying off. I'm just worried about the 5th inning. That seems to be when most Yank pitchers implode.
