Oakland Athletics OF Nick Swisher will be away from the team for at least the next three days, after being placed on the bereavement list, according to ESPN.com

What the h*** does that means?

His grandmother passed away and he has at least the next three days off to mourn and do the things that you do when a family member passes away,

MLB bereavement leave can run from 3 to 7 days ... after that the club has to give up the extra roster spot. Haven't seen any word on when Swish actually comes back.

No!!!

Of course Swisher's on my bench as he starts the game 2-2 with 2 RBI against the Royals.

While my OF of Guillen, Cabrera and Mench go 0-10 Friday night. :~(

Yeah, I managed to find out on CBSOnline minutes before the AZ/Cincy game that they expected him to show up tonight, so I quickly swapped him back into my RF slot instead of Chad Tracy, who wasn't playing (against a LHP) anyway. He earned some good points for me and kept me on par for RF usage. ;-D
