Help with sig size

I am making a sig for the hockey forum and I have saved it in Gif and JPG and neither one fits the 12k limit. How do I make the file size smaller?

Assuming it's Photoshop, you just go to File>Save For Web and you'll have a bar on the right where you can just knock down the quality until it's under 12 KB.

Yeah Photoshop...Thanks Money...I have always spent hours messing with these things to get the file size right. Thanks a ton.
