Antibiotics...Weird

Postby Spiegs1106 » Sat Aug 13, 2005 7:14 pm

My brother was diagnosed with lyme disease the other day. The antibiotics he got was Doxycycline.

What was weird is that I realized I was on the same medication for my acne. Here I thought my brother was on a huge antibiotic until I realize I have been taking the same thing in the same dosage for the past year and a half.

If this bad for me?

I think I'd trust my doctor who prescribed it over anyone here at the Cafe ;-)

I'm not doctor by any means but I learned in Health course that I took that some drugs are originally intended to treat one thing and it later discovered it can help with something completely different. Viagra was originally made to treat cardiovascular disease.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure acne has something to do with bacteria so antibiotics I assume would be appropriate.

One thing to consider is...is the medication working? If it is, I don't think I'd care :-b stupid as that may be.

Seriously, just ask your doctor, not us !+)

"And finally, how do you fight taste loss?"

"With anti-biotics?"
