i've heard over on the angels boards that he will be used out of the bullpen, especially since they've been struggling as of late.

The jury is still out. Other reports suggest that he'll be starting. And, personally, I think he's easily the best pitcher on that team after Colon and maybe Lackey. So, I would take the chance that he starts and stash him. See the August 15th clip:

In the same game, actually. :-°

do you recommand him?

If you're desperate. I guess he could get a roster spot in a 12 team league or something. Look at your last OFer. Think Diaz can outperform him? It's quite possible, I'd say.

Sizemore or Francoeur? Don't think so :-t
Are you interested in joining a 28 teams dynasty league? If so, PM me.

I don't know how long Piazza will be out, but Castro would be a good C pick up until he's back.

Just a thought, but it seems as though R.Tejeda has been pitching very well for the Phillies. Does anyone else thing he's worth anything? (Say, better than a B.Penny or C.C. Sabathia [who was cut in my league]).

I think he carries marginal value in a 12 team league.

Yah, it was a good game for him, but as I said before, he *should* do fine against Cincy given the matchup, if he's going to continue improving. I was actually surprised to see Lopez go 3-for-4 against him though -- and he added a HR w/ a BB so far today. Maybe this will be a good sign for Lopez going forward too.

Cincy is one of the best hitting teams in MLB. GAB is a great hitter's park.

Yes, that's true overall. But they are a lefty heavy team. And Lowry's a LHP who's been doing significantly better against lefties.

While it's also true that the Cincy splits vs RHPs and LHPs don't show much diff, I do also suspect that the large majority of LHPs in the NL probably suck outside of D-Train, Duke and a couple others. I say this because there are a few other lefty heavy NL teams that seem to do great against LHPs (ie. better than against RHPs in some cases). Actually, come to think of it, Lowry was probably one of those bad LHPs until the past month or so. :D
