As long as the starter is the only pitcher for his team in the game, he gets a complete game. Plain and simple.

Yeah, our league counts CG's (our toughest category to earn), there was one game earlier this year where Washburn and Grienke each got a rain-shortened 5-inning CG.. and Greinke pitched terrible that night.. his line was something like:

5 IP, 11 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 110 pitches.. CG!
