the Cubs know exactly what they missed, paying a guy to sit on the DL 3 months out of the season
given a similiar and reasonable number of AB's, i wont be the least bit surprised if Cedeno puts up very similiar, if not better, numbers than Nomar this year. hes got a slappy, line-drive swing and a pretty good eye. i dont him getting a lot of HR power as he grows up, in the 10-15 a year range, but he should have an OBP in the .375-.390 range with a lot of doubles when he really starts putting it all together. sounds like a great 2 hitter to me.
of course, that Nomar/Cedeno thing depends on Nomar staying healthy and Cedeno getting out to a hot enough start so that Dusty cant bench him and forget him.
