Toronto Blue Jays' pitcher Roy Halladay cut a simulated game short on Wednesday, and is doubtful to pitch next Monday as hoped.

Halladay was scheduled to throw five simulated innings on Wednesday, but stopped after three when he experienced some discomfort in his injured left leg.

He was scheduled to take part in fielding drills, but passed on that, too.

Blue Jays pitching coach Brad Arnsberg said it was doubtful Halladay would be able to pitch Monday against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

This is going to hurt the seasons of many fantasy owners, and not to mention the Jays' chances at the post season.

C'mon, now. There isn't exactly a precursor you can use to predict taking a hard line drive off the leg.

Aug 10 Halladay (broken leg) had a setback on Wednesday, cutting short a simulated game after three innings, the Associated Press reports. As a result, Halladay will not come off the DL on Monday as initially planned.

Recommendation: "Hopefully, this thing subsides and he's going to be able to toe that slab here before the year is over, but we have no projected date for him," pitching coach Brad Arnsberg said. "There's no way he's going to be able to take the ball in Anaheim."

Not so good. I can afford to stash him on my DL for a few more weeks because I've all but locked up a playoff berth H2H ... but I was really counting on him to be in full Doc form come postseason .
