You HAVE to read this article from BA about him... WOW...
And also... Any other Liriano Owner getting a kick out of it, when Mays or Lohse get shelled... Like Mays today...
Oh and this from AP...
While the rest of Minnesota's starting pitchers have surged in the second half, Mays has stumbled - going 1-6 with a 7.48 ERA after posting marks of 5-3 and 4.13 before the All-Star break. He gave up nine hits and five runs in 4 2-3 innings, walking one and hitting one without a strikeout.
With top prospects Scott Baker and Francisco Liriano thriving at Triple-A Rochester, a change sounded almost imminent.
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire indicated today that Joe Mays would likely be removed from the rotation before his next scheduled start on Monday. Gardenhire didn't say whether Scott Baker or Francisco Liriano is the likely replacement. Gardenhire's choice will be a very good pickup in AL-only leagues for the final month.
I have both Baker and Liriano on my team in a keeper league, so either one starting for the rest of the season over Mays is welcome news to me.
If the 1st start is next Monday, Baker would be the more natural choice. He would be starting on 4 days rest and is older than Liriano and has already started 2 games in the ML with solid numbers.
Liriano started today and would have to come back on 3 days rest.

Another great outing for Liriano last night. 7IP, 2ER, 9Ks.
In a knowledgeable keeper league there's no way this guy clears waivers, correct? I ask because I have the number one waiver priority (after trading for it) and am pondering whether I should hold out for the possibility that Delmon Young gets called up.
This just makes me sick as a Giants fan. For all of you who don't know what I'm talking about, in addition to sending Joe Nathan to the Twins for AJP, we also sent liriano Anyways, from what I can tell he should end up being a top pitcher in the coming years if he stays healthy.
If I had the number 1 waiver spot.. I wouldn't hesistate to grab Liriano in a keeper. Delmon isn't going to be up this year, so you don't need to worry about that.

Are you serious? Liriano and Nathan for AJ Pierzinsky? OUCH! Dang, the Twins just ridiculously raped the Giants on that one.

Yup. And I probably wouldn't be wrong if I called that an understatement
The Twinkies also got Boof Bonser in that deal. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's as good as Nathan or Liriano but he did have 170 k's in triple A this year with an ERA under 4. As always the Twins pitching looks deep heading into next year.
