Well in my second midseason league I had a draft last week...did I do any better in this one?

Rd. 1 - A. Rod
Rd. 2 - J. Kent
Rd. 3 - M. Mulder
Rd. 4 - R. Halladay
Rd. 5 - S. Rolen
Rd. 6 - R. Oswalt
Rd. 7 - R. Johnson
Rd. 8 - R. Palmiero
Rd. 9 - L. Walker
Rd. 10 - T. Percival
Rd. 11 - B. Giles
Rd. 12 - J. Washburn

I dunno. I'm still new to fantasy baseball (first full season). I like this team but not sure if it'll be a contender.

That is a much better draft. For starters, you must have picked earlier. A top 3 pick makes it easier. Getting Kent makes you strong at 2 shallow positions. Rolen and Raffy are pretty solid to anchor your corners. Nice infield. Giles/Walker isn't too bad for a start in OF. A good base of a pitching staff, dominant if Johnson and Oswalt return full-strength. Could be good value picks there.

You probably should have gotten some advice on who to take in rounds 13 and on. Dontrelle Will and Brandon Webb are 2 guys I grabbed late to help round out my staff. Eric Byrnes could help you as a 3rd or 4th OF. There's many others, those are just a few I've had success with recently and made sure I got in my mid-season boredom league.

I can't believe Brian Giles fell to the 11th round. 8-o

Drafts are different from day to day and I know because I've done quite a few midseason drafts. In any case, I was particularly proud of this one, which I believe was so successful because I preranked my players up to about 115. Don't like Randa at 3B and am not sold on Mora or Griffey, but considering the pitching I got, I think it was overall very successful. Maybe too many young pitchers, but tell me what you think: sixth overall in 12 team 5x5

Round 1: Carlos Delgado
Round 2: Mark Prior
Round 3: Kerry Wood
Round 4: Jason Schmidt
Round 5: Preston Wilson
Round 6: Rafael Furcal
Round 7: Keith Foulke
Round 8: Ken Griffey
Round 9: Melvin Mora
Round 10: Javy Lopez
Round 11: Carlos Zambrano
Round 12: Edgar Martinez
Round 13: Rocky Biddle
Round 14: Michael Young
Round 15: Dontrelle Willis
Round 16: Joe Randa
Round 17: Lance Carter
Round 18: Jesse Foppert
Round 19: Brandon Webb
Round 20: Nick Johnson
Round 21: Moises Alou

Remember I wasn't there to make these picks, I just preranked, but I was very pleased with the way it turned out.

Just for kicks, here's a draft where I was present and felt I made out like a bandit also, but which do you think is better?
8th overall pick 12 team, 5x5

Round 1: Todd Helton
Round 2: Pedro Martinez
Round 3: Mark Prior
Round 4: Troy Glaus
Round 5: Sammy Sosa
Round 6: Derek Jeter
Round 7: Larry Walker
Round 8: Armando Benitez
Round 9: Brian Giles
Round 10: Kyle Lohse
Round 11: Frank Catalanotto
Round 12: Mike DeJean
Round 13: Matt Mantei
Round 14: Kirk Reuter
Round 15: Brandon Webb
Round 16: Jose Valverde (Mantei insurance)
Round 17: Mike Lieberthal
Round 18: J.D. Drew
Round 19: Francisco Cordero (in case Urbina is traded)
Round 20: Michael Young (how was he still available?)
Round 21: Nick Johnson

Feel free to absolutely nit pick the live one. I can take the criticism.

Way to rebound. You did really good in this draft.
