Go to Profile and in there is a spot to choose an Avatar, logo under screen name and also a spot to enter a signature which is the banner. There are size contraints on them and I can never remember. What you do is basically find something you want/or make in photo shop and then upload it to the site.
the general formatt for a signature/banner or posting any other picture in a thread is:
[img]picture location[/img]
if you are not allowed to remote link the picture from the original site, then you have to host it on a website like photobucket. Signatures created in photoshop can not be linked directly from your computer so they have to be uploaded to a site as well. Hope this helps.
