While I agree the players should have the right to appeal, the arbitrator has no sense of respect or decency. I wonder if the arbitrator would have cut the penalty if it was his, say, son or father that got shoved around by Rogers.

He still served a stiffer suspension that that goon Bertuzzi, relative to what they did..
they probably had Gary Bettman as the arbitrator..
Bertuzzi actually served 20 games, so 8 more than Rogers.
They were talking about this on espnnews this morning. Technically Bertuzzi did only serve 20 NHL games but that was only because of the lockout. While the lockout was going on he was not allowed to play for any European teams and make money like most of the hockey players did. So while he was only suspended 20 NHL games he did miss over a year of hockey.
Finally The Rock has come back....to New York City!!

At least there's one voice of reason in here.

Not even that. No injury at all for the cameraman. Just a doublecheck at the hospital to be safe (in other words, to see if he could get $$$).
I've talked quite a bit about this in past threads, but it still amazes me that everyone wants to hang a ballplayer for knocking over a camera.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Steve Moore still isn't able to play yet.
It's hard to say Bertuzzi lost anything last year since NOBODY played any NHL games, and he actually benefitted from the lockout b/c if it hadn't happened and games were played last year, there is no way he would have been allowed to play at the start of the season. The NHL tried to sneak this one in under the carpet, basically. I don't like the idea that he 'lost' something by not playing in Europe, since that was a really disgusting tactic by the union, encouraging their players to go over and steal some minimum-wage earning guys' jobs in Europe, while at the same time condemning anyone who would consider being a 'replacement' NHL player over here as scabs. I'm happy the union was beat down and Goodenow lost his job for it, good riddance. <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>

That is because people are PC idiots in general and worry about Rogers shoving a couple of cameramen while guys using roids and taking drugs illegally is just fine.
If his name was not Rogers and he was not caught on tape shoving a couple of annpying cameramen, it would not have even warranted a headline let alone criminal charges. Ah, poor Kenn shoved a cameraman and broke his little camera...let's suspend him for a month.
Meanwhile Palmeiro and Bonds and all the other cheaters get slaps on the wrist or nothing at all. What Palmeiro has done probably for the better part of his career is an affront to the game, a disgrace to its honor and outright criminal as he hardly had prescriptions for them roids. Let's give him a 10 day suspension and then talk about a celebration day for his 3000th hit when he gets back. It is really pathethic when you think about it. Oh I forget, he is innocent, just like Bonds is...sure he is. And I am sure he did not inhale either.

Just because other sentences were light doesnt make this incident ok. He should still be suspended for a month. Yes, the cheaters should get longer sentences too but Rogers attacked this guy and should have gotten even more than 20.
someone rats you out to the the mall security because they think you're CRAZY, you should start a shootout, swing from floor to floor via large balloons, rip a phone booth out of the wall, and steal the person's car. That will get them to calm down.
