That seems kinda ridiculous to me..
It has to do with the points he'll be gaining, we'd have to post the standings for you to understand. He is basically using the last place team to gain points, when the last place team is obviously out of the race and has no chance to finish in the money. True, he's giving up Manny, but that won't hurt him nearly as bad as gaining speed will help him, if you saw the standings, you'd understand.
I personally don't think the trade is uneven, but it's the fact that the inactive, last place manager who hasn't even fielded a full lineup for the past several weeks suddenly accepts a trade which helps the 3rd place team is what sort of strikes me as odd.
The trade will likely go through, so this thread is somewhat pointless.

I didn't veto, just for the record...but I do think it's fishy.
To the original poster: Obviously the 3 players involved aren't what's at issue here. This is. If you're going to try to drum up support for your cause, at least give all the facts.
Still do not see what the problem is. The last place team has a right to be there and a right to cut deals. Just because the owner decided not to play for awhile does not forfeit that owner's right to play. The guy is getting Manny Ramirez, so it is notlike he is handing over players on the cheap.

He's still not playing. He has an empty utility spot and is starting Joe Crede at CI in a 12 team league. If he were serious about winning/not placing last, the least he could do is fill an empty starting roster spot.
I didn't veto, and likely won't. I have enough faith in my team that it doesn't matter what he does, but I do think it's pretty cheap.
It doesn't matter whether he's active or not. The trade helps the 3rd place team but at the same time the 3rd place team is giving up value. This sounds like a standard trade to me and something where a veto shouldn't even be discussed.
Sometimes a person who is out of the running in a fantasy league will stop checking their team but still get the emails about trade proposals. The last place team could have seen the proposal and decided that they would benefit from the trade.
