Where is Burrell???

Has Bowa just totally given up on Burrell? Sitting him for the second consecutive game, even when they're at a hitters park???

Has anyone heard anything on this??

Read my post in the "Will Burrell come around?" thread. Bowa said he might sit him this weekend, because he needs his best hitters out there, and Burrell apparently isn't one of them.

If those are the best hitters the Phillies have left tonight, then a move to Triple A is recommended. (And I have three of them - Abreu, Rollins, and Lieb - on my Yahoo team.)

Yeah, I have Burrell, but at least I was spared by having the opportunity to put him on the bench when I saw he wasn't starting.

don't know if u intelligent people ever thought that what burrell needs is time off just to watch the game and to take in what he's been doing wrong. but thats just me

I also have him. If he does not play vs Cinn there, he is now useless to me. He will be launched Monday and let somebody else worry about his lame a$$.

LOL.....this benching of Burrell may be just the thing he needs! I have kept him the entire season (although on my bench for the most part)....and if benching does not do the trick.....he will be gone from my roster also! Damned thing is...the FA pool is so picked over at this point in the season...your chances of finding ANYONE worth holding onto are slim too none!

Burrell will probably have a pretty good second half. Benching him in a hitters park is not the best option of getting im back on track though.

Bowa's probably just trying to light a match under his a$$, I'm keeping him on the bench until he starts hitting or I'll drop/trade him at the all star break.
