Kaz Matsui (knee) went 2-for-4 today in his final game at Double-A Binghamton.
He'll be activated for Tuesday's game.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH now we have no chance for the east or wild card. :-/

I'm still curious to see what he can do, my patience is definitely wearing thin on him though

I still think Cairo should be the every day 2nd baseman for the Mets. Matsui had double the errors in just as many games as him this year and Cairo could hit for a solid average, atleast better than Matsui's. It's hard to sit a guy that you give a big contract to, but he's been hurting them more than helping with his D and bat.

I don't. The sad thing is that Kaz Matsui is still the Mets best 2B. I could pull my hair out trying to figure out why why they won't give A.H. a shot. Cairo is a mediocre 2B at best and his range is actually less than Matsui. The error total can be misleading. Cairo can also give you decent production with the bat but so can KazMat and he brings an element of speed that Cairo doesn't have.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Good point with the speed, counted that out for some reason. I think they would have to utilize Kaz's speed to make it worth it though. If he's hitting in the 2 hole in between Reyes and Beltran, I'm not so sure. Ideally, he could hit 8th but I don't like the idea of him hitting 2nd. There's alot of flexibility in the order with Beltran, Wright, and Cameron being able to hit almost anywhere, so it should be easy to find a spot for him that works (one would think atleast).

i still think kaz might have gotten a raw deal thusfar...i think he at least deserves the rest of this yr to prove himself and then if he still can't get on base or field a ground ball then he should be gone.
